Western New York based post metal band, NEGATIVEHATE, released a new album titled, Shapeshifter. Shapeshifter features 8 brand new songs that showcase a combination of metal and prog rock.

The first track “Infinity Bias” is a slow-paced gem with vocals that recall the likes of Tom Waits and pulsating drums. “Echo Paradigm” follows up with haunting guitar riffs and a jaunting bass line. “Obsidian Dawn” is a 9-minute slow burner that begins with a gentleness of soft guitars before segueing into a resurgence of a 70s style progressive banging rock anthem.

“Dreams of the Yellow King” comes at the listener right out of the gate with staggering drums and strong vocals. The title track “Shapeshifter” begins with an eerie melodic chant sound, then transforming into a guitar driven requiem. “Hireath” concludes the album that resonates with lifting guitars, a streamlined bass, and a steady drum beat with raw lyrics.

The band formed in 2012 and had big gaps when their first albums release. NEGATIVEHATE now releases with more consistency to establish their sound with Shapeshifter. This album embraces their passion for creativity drawing each listener in for their own defined listening experience.
