Grass-roots rocker Rick Monroe, brings his brand of country music within the grooves of his most fully realized album to date, Smoke Out the Window, today via Thermal Entertainment. The album is available now everywhere: https://thermalent.com/rick-monroe-smoke-out-the-window.
A lyric video for the title track was also released today:
It’s taken Monroe a lifetime of searching, stretching, and experimenting to finally get to make a record as solid as Smoke, but the results have made the overall journey quite worthwhile. “My producer JD Shuff said to me, ‘I believe if you put this record on in 15 years, it will still hold the quality of a cool-sounding record,’” Monroe muses. “The biggest thing I want to get across with it is, I’m hoping this record gives people an insight into the artistry that’s there in everything I do. I know I can be seen as quite an intense guy and an intense performer at times, but I’m also a fun guy who has a good sense of humor. I hope all of my sides come through on the record.”
Early reviews are enthusiastic about “Smoke Out The Window”, the follow up to his previous releases Gypsy Soul (2017) and It’s A Love Thing (2014).
“Get ready for this one country music lovers. Or, maybe I should say those of you who really enjoy a bit of southern rock and country soul mixed in with your traditional country. Because you are definitely getting a little bit of all of that in this new album from Rick Monroe.” – Country Chatter
“In an arena of Rick Monroe fans, I’d probably fit right in because he attracts genuine people. Every song on this album speaks to me on some level. I love how many of the songs remind me of classic country but with a far more bluesy-rock feel. While most artists strive to copy trends at mainstream radio, Monroe doesn’t follow the beat of that drum.” – Jampshere Magazine
“Smoke Out the Window – Balancing the swing of country, the grit of blues and the solid impact of rock.” – Soundlooks

About Rick Monroe
Rick Monroe brings his music and a magnetic presence wherever he goes. With a down-to-earth Country resonance, Monroe is no stranger to the stage: he’s performed in 17 countries – and every U.S. state except for Oregon. He has opened for Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Aaron Lewis, Eli Young Band, Charlie Daniels Band, Dwight Yoakam, Montgomery Gentry, Patty Loveless, Trick Pony, Emerson Drive, Pat Green, Randy Houser, Josh Thompson and more; entertained former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev, and U.S. troops in Vietnam. Rick grew up in a variety of places – California, Connecticut, Kansas, North Carolina, even England, and his love of music and outgoing personality naturally drew him to the stage. Now based in Nashville, Monroe says, “I’m not so linear in my approach to music; I’m more diversified. My influences range from A to Z and I always try to put that into my music. But my home base will always be Country because it’s not just about the hype of an idea; it’s based on songs.” Fans can expect to hear a wide range of material – but Rick promises that it will all be quality. Rick enjoys sponsorships and/or endorsements with Monster Energy Drink, Banded Brand (Clothing and Water Fowl Gear), Framus Guitars, Speakeasy Jewelry and CRKT Knives.
