LOS AMSTERDAM the new album from YELLOW CLAW (who is Jim Aasgier and Nizzle) is out today (March 31) on Mad Decent. It’s a musical map point of where the sound of future music lives, somewhere between YELLOW CLAW‘s native city (Amsterdam) and their second home (Los Angeles), fusing elements of European dancefloor panache and gritty American trap seamlessly.
YELLOW CLAW offer 13 tracks featuring a variety of special guests for the follow-up to their 2015 debut Blood For Mercy. Already fans have been offered singles like “Good Day” featuring DJ Snake and Elliphant which is in receiving airplay in Top 40 radio throughout Los Angeles, Seattle, Detroit and Phoenix, amongst various other cities, rap-fueled tracks “City On Lockdown” featuring Juicy J & Lil Debbie (the latter of whom wowed YELLOW CLAW fans at the duo’s two sold-out Los Angeles Palladium shows this past summer) and “Stacks“–a Dancing Astronaut ‘Track Of The Day’ featuring Quavo, Tinie Tempah and Cesqeaux, “Shotgun” collaborator Rochelle who returns on “Light Years” and “Open” featuring (Moksi & Jonna Fraser) – popular Dutch artist Jonna Fraser’s first song ever to be recorded in English. Other notable album cuts include “Home” featuring Sophie Simmons, daughter of KISS’ Gene Simmons, “Hold On To Me” with fellow dance floor mavens GTA, and “Rose Horizon” (feat. STORi).
Experience YELLOW CLAW‘s new music at two major U.S. music festivals this summer. On June 11, they will join Marshmello and Big Gigantic as headliners for Bonnaroo‘s newly envisioned ‘The Other Stage’ for electronic and hip-hop music. At the tail end of the season over Labor Day Weekend September 1-3, Jim and Nizzle will electrify at NYC’s major electronic music festival Electric Zoo: The 6th Boro. In between, they can be found at their Wynn residency at Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas among EDC Tokyo, Tomorrowland Belgium and other international tour dates.
