After Swedish hard rockers DEAF RAT stormed the scene in 2019 with their debut album Ban The Light (AFM Records), the band has released a brand new music video for their cover version of “Take Me To Church” today!
The band from Dalarna are no longer unknown in the hard rock world, so DEAF RAT is made up of former members of various Swedish bands, and with their sound builds a bridge between old school and modern hard rock, enriched with a lot of dirt, darkness, fat guitar riffs and strong melodies. With Ban The Light, the band took the heavy rock world by storm; now it is to be hoped that the new single is a first harbinger of album number 2.
While covering Hozier’s gospel-pop anthem “Take Me To Church”, DEAF RAT dismantle the original down to its bare bones and use it to build their very own, unmistakable framework.
“We recorded Take Me To Church a while ago between tour and album,” says frontman Frankie Rich. “We let ourselves drift in a direction we didn’t go in before, and the result turned out a little bit different from what you’re used to from us. Uuuuand first the video…. Well… I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.”
