SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 4, 2021) – Singer-songwriter Sophie Egan is releasing her latest single “Someone To Meet” on January 22. The song was born from a guitar riff that her brother played on a whim. The sound sparked lyrics in the form of questions from Egan. “I didn’t know what the concept of the song was until Harry and I were almost done writing it,” says Egan. “The more we wrote, the more I understood the story in my own head.”
Egan’s brother Harry is her producer and co-writer. The duo collaborate on all of Egan’s music, and Harry is a major part of her creative process. The message behind “Someone To Meet” is relatable for all listeners, but it’s especially relevant in Egan’s life. ” I have met people and something told me I would know them for a long time, or that they would be important in my life,” says Egan. “I didn’t know why or how it would happen, but I knew how I felt. This song is about recognizing that feeling and deciding to do something about it.”
