Quebec-based SCARE presents a pummeling new single, “Nevermind If It All Explodes, Iâll Die Anyway,â for Halloween.
Hailing from Quebec City, SCARE delivers an abrasive and intense style of sludge-tone metallic hardcore packed with direct, plodding grooves. Since 2015, this hardcore/sludge formation has captured the spirit of the times, rich in anxiety-driven emotions. By celebrating inner struggles and the tensions of modern life, SCARE continues to deliver deeply resonant music for those who feel the weight of the world.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Cursed, Mi Amore, Buried Inside, and Trigger Effect, SCARE continually expands their musical horizons with each new release. Their complex sound defies simple categorization, but one thing remains clear: they create anxiety-driven music for those feeling the pressure of the world. By shining a light on the darkest facets of humanity, they embody a spirit of âno funâ that resonates with everyone battling their own demons.
SCARE released their first demo in 2015, followed by their Fleshed Out EP in 2016, their debut LP Not Dead Yet, Probablyâ.â.â. in 2019, a pair of remixes by ugly_bassplayer in 2020, and the Congratulations On Your Death EP in 2021. Now, as the band puts the final touches on their second album, they drop the crushing new track, “Nevermind If It All Explodes, Iâll Die Anyway.â The track was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Ryan Battistuzzi at Le Stuzzio, and the artwork was created by Kevin Martel.
Vocalist Philip Roy states with the new single, ââNevermind If It All Explodes, Iâll Die Anywayâ is a piece that explores the idea that we may be trapped in a loop. Every decision we make, every path we take, and every loss of a loved one seems to repeat itself without us having the power to change anything in our lives. The only way to break free from this negative loop is to realize that we are in one and to try to create moments we would want to relive. In the end, was it really worth it?â
