Decibel Magazine is hosting the exclusive premiere of âBreathe The Decay,â the newest single from Indianapolis, Indiana-based death metal henchmen OBSCENE, and their third LP Agony & Wounds, nearing release in July on Nameless Grave Records.

After traversing from dead horizon to dead horizon touring the United States with groups such as Morta Skuld, Molder, and Re-Buried, the Hoosier hellions OBSCENE deliver their third crime against humanity with Agony & Wounds. Here, bassist Roy Hayes, drummer Brandon Howe, guitarist Mike Morgan, and vocalist Kyle Shaw create eleven offenses raining plague and pestilence upon all in its path. Agony & Wounds is their densest, lengthiest, most challenging, and most rewarding album to date, showcasing not the bandâs years of constant hard work in OBSCENE, but also their growth as musicians playing in other bands such as Mother Of Graves, Acheron, and Summon The Destroyer.

Featuring a glorious cover spread by legendary artist Brad Moore (Argus, Tomb Mold, Gatecreeper), Agony & Wounds was engineered and mixed by Noah Buchanan at Mercinary Studios and mastered by Dan Lowndes at Resonance Sound Studios. This is unquestionably a record fans of Asphyx, early-At The Gates, Brutality, and Morgoth will want to hear.

âFor the second single off our upcoming LP, Agony & Wounds, we’ve picked ‘Breathe The Decay,’â the band writes. âIt’s a ripper of a track that’ll make you feel like taking your last breath while having more hooks than a meat locker. Lyrically, it’s about a vagabond wreaking death everywhere they venture ala the Saint of Killers from Preacher; not specifically about him, but he was an inspiration when writing the song.
