REVIEW – Due out on Friday, September 6th via SPV, ‘Light Em Up’ is the seventh studio album by THE DEAD DAISIES, a powerhouse rock supergroup that features some of the most celebrated musicians in rock, including members from legendary bands like Deep Purple, Whitesnake, and Dio. The album is a testament to the band’s mission of keeping the spirit of classic 70s rock alive while delivering a modern twist on their signature sound. Packed with raw energy, hot-wired riffs, and that unmistakable 70s rock vibe, ‘Light Em Up’ brings a fresh blast of rock ‘n’ roll to their ever-growing fanbase.

The album opens with the title track “Light Em Up,” a blazing anthem that immediately demands attention. With gritty guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and a relentless rhythm section, this track sets the tone for an album filled with high-energy rock anthems. “Times Are Changing” follows, blending soulful melodies with gritty rock instrumentation, pulling the listener into a nostalgic yet modern rock experience.

Next, “I Wanna Be Your Bitch” shakes things up with its bold, unapologetic lyrics and infectious groove. The pounding basslines and thunderous drums add to the rebellious atmosphere, while “I’m Gonna Ride” takes things in a different direction, offering a heavy biker-rock anthem that conjures images of the open road. The track’s gritty guitar work and memorable chorus make it a standout on the album.

As we move further into the record, “Back to Zero” slows the tempo down, delving into a bluesy and more introspective sound. This track offers the perfect contrast to the more high-octane numbers, showcasing the band’s versatility. “Way Back Home” brings back the rock ‘n’ roll fury, with crunchy riffs and powerful vocals that invite listeners to keep rocking long into the night.

Tracks like “Take A Long Line” and “My Way And The Highway” keep the momentum going, featuring hard-hitting guitar solos and memorable vocal hooks that are bound to become live show staples. The album wraps up with “Love That’ll Never Be” and “Take My Soul,” two tracks that expertly blend melodic depth with the band’s signature rock energy, ensuring that ‘Light Em Up’ leaves a lasting impact on listeners.

THE DEAD DAISIES have made a significant impact on the rock scene since their inception over a decade ago. With members from some of the biggest names in rock history, the band continues to evolve, offering fans a refreshing take on classic rock music. Their journey has included multiple successful albums, extensive world tours, and a dedicated fanbase that spans the globe. With ‘Light Em Up’, THE DEAD DAISIES prove once again that rock is far from dead—it’s alive, thriving, and just as powerful as ever.
