REVIEW – New York City based songwriter Paul Maged debits a new EP titled Crossroads. The 5-track piece showcases Maged’s hard rocking sound.
Opening track “Martyr War” dives into 80s influenced soaring guitars and frenetic drums with Maged’s piercing lyrics. Maged comments about needing to get a lot off of his chest about the politically charged world we are in today. “A Suddent Contrast” features a slower tempo with an elegant piano ballad with Maged opening up about letting the light in from experiencing worry and desolation. “Under My Tree” picks up the pace where Maged delves into staying in his own place where he can be himself. The pulsating guitars and drums playing in tandem make “Under My Tree” a standout rock gem.
Chris Sheldon of Foo Fighters fame mixed 4 out of 5 of the tracks on the album. Sheldon mixed the Foo Fighter’s breakthrough album The Colour and the Shape. Listener who listens to the Foo Fighters, Billy Joel, and Green Day will appreciate this new EP from Paul Maged.
