REVIEW – Finnish rock powerhouse GINGER EVIL is set to release their electrifying new EP, “Hands Move To Midnight,” on November 14, 2024, via Frontiers Music Srl. This six-track EP delivers a thrilling mix of hard-hitting riffs, layered harmonies, and raw emotion, offering fans a glimpse of what’s to come from their debut album, The Way It Burns, due February 14, 2025.
The title track, “Hands Move To Midnight,” is a standout anthem showcasing the band’s signature blend of high-energy rock and melodic intricacy. Featuring driving guitar lines by Tomi, thunderous bass from Veli, and Toni’s precision drumming, the song is brought to life by Ella’s powerful and evocative vocals. Bassist Veli describes it as, “fast, hard, and almost heavy, with layers of harmony that define our sound.”
The EP opens with “Rainmaker,” a captivating track that builds tension and unleashes soaring melodies. “Dead On Arrival” follows, blending a modern rock edge with empowering lyrics. “Shame Old” slows the pace slightly, creating a reflective, emotionally resonant moment. Closing with “Arrowhead” and “Flames,” the EP solidifies GINGER EVIL‘s ability to deliver both energy and depth, creating a journey through sound that leaves listeners eager for more.
This EP represents GINGER EVIL’s commitment to creating music where the song itself is the priority, as guitarist Tomi explains: “The main reason for forming this band was to have a safe place where the song is the boss—not production, not perfection, just music that makes us feel good.”
Having evolved from Moonshine Inc. to GINGER EVIL, the band has embraced their identity as modern rock trailblazers. Their sound combines influences ranging from Fleetwood Mac to Foo Fighters, while maintaining a fresh, contemporary twist.
