REVIEW – Italian thrash maniacs GAME OVER return with bloodlust and no brakes on their blistering new full-length ‘Face The End’, arriving April 25, 2025 via Scarlet Records. With a recharged five-piece lineup and a sharpened vision, the band rips through 10 tracks in just over 32 minutes of unrelenting old-school aggression laced with fresh fire.
Opening salvo “The Final Hour” is a tension-soaked intro that sets the apocalyptic tone before launching headfirst into “Lust For Blood”, a full-speed shred-fest dripping with venom and razor-sharp precision. The pit will erupt for “Neck Breaking Dance”, a two-minute thrash bomb designed to tear necks and destroy stages with gang shouts, punk fury, and whiplash-inducing riffs.
“Grip Of Time” hits with pummeling groove and retro-synth shadows that bring ‘80s horror nostalgia to the surface. “Lost In Disgrace” slows things just enough to crank up the weight—chugging riffs, eerie atmospheres, and classic thrash hooks remind us that GAME OVER knows how to build tension before ripping it wide open again.
“Veil Of Insanity” rips back in with surgical precision, while “Gateway To Infinity” takes a more epic tone, complete with dynamic shifts and a shred-heavy chorus that sounds like the soundtrack to a doomed sci-fi city under siege. The brief interlude “Tempesta” offers a breather, but it’s just a warning for what’s next—“Crimson Waves”, the album’s longest and most layered track, slams through tempo changes and crushing leads with controlled chaos.
Closing out the record is “Weaving Fate”, an anthemic, defiant ripper that perfectly captures the record’s dual message: there’s darkness everywhere, but that doesn’t mean you run. You stand up, scream back, and keep swinging.
Produced by Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio and featuring art from Mario López, ‘Face The End’ merges classic thrash with horror-laced intensity and apocalyptic urgency. It’s aggressive. It’s catchy. And it proves, once again, that GAME OVER isn’t just surviving—they’re evolving with fangs bared.
