REVIEW – “Fakir” is the latest single from French alternative rockers FAITH IN AGONY, set for release on March 20, 2025. Hailing from Grenoble, France, the band was formed in 2016 under the leadership of Grey, who was soon joined by Madie, the lead singer of Nightmare since 2019, along with siblings Quentin Riche and Eva Riche.
“Fakir” builds on the band’s reputation for blending 90s-inspired alternative rock with heavy undertones and intimate vibes. Clocking in at 3 minutes and 15 seconds, the track draws listeners into a raw, emotionally charged atmosphere. Madie’s commanding vocals soar over gritty guitar riffs and pounding rhythms, while the layered harmonies from Grey, Quentin, and Eva add a haunting depth to the song’s dynamic energy.
FAITH IN AGONY is no stranger to pushing creative boundaries. Their journey began with two EPs, ‘Eponyme’ (2016) and ‘Do Not Repeat’ (2017), followed by more than 50 electrifying live performances. Their debut full-length album, ‘Drowned & Exalted,’ showcased the band’s growth and sonic maturity, combining intensity and emotion with striking production by Eliott Tordo at Suntzu Records. The album’s artwork, crafted by Julien Jolivet, and its accompanying visuals produced by Mégaloprod, further cemented the band’s distinct aesthetic.
With “Fakir,” FAITH IN AGONY continues to evolve, capturing both raw energy and emotional vulnerability in equal measure. This track serves as a powerful glimpse into the band’s ongoing musical journey, offering listeners a taste of what’s to come.
