Lower Definition, Feat. OM&M’s Valentino Arteaga, Release First New Song In Years

LOWER DEFINITION, FEATURING OF MICE & MEN DRUMMER VALENTINO ARTEAGA, DROP NEW SONG “GRIEF EATER”

BAND SHARES FIRST NEW SONG IN OVER 10 YEARS

Born during the early 2000s Myspace and mp3.com era, Lower Definition, featuring Of Mice & Men drummer Valentino Arteaga, put down their roots in the melodic post-hardcore scene — fusing melody and unbridled emotion with technical riffs and raucous breakdowns.

In the years following the release of their debut album, The Greatest Of All Lost Arts, released on Ferret Music in 2008, their sound became somewhat of a white whale for the genre. Their sole album would go on to inspire a future generation of musicians in the post-hardcore and modern metalcore scene. While Lower Definition hadn’t been active in a decade, they earned such a cult following that they moved a whopping 2,000 tickets to their hometown reunion show in San Diego in 2018.

Today, Lower Definition have dropped their first song in over 10 years. During the pandemic and subsequent shut down of the past year, they managed to write, produce, and record new music and have been compiling a treasure trove of new material they plan to release throughout the year.
Listen to the post-hardcore power of “Grief Eater” here.

It’s also available at Spotify and Apple Music.

“We’re so excited to announce the official return of Lower Definition with our first new single in over a decade ‘Grief Eater,’” Arteaga shares. “It feels amazing to have the band back together and creating music again. We’re in an incredibly creative place and can’t wait to share our new material with everyone in 2021.”

“Grief Eater” is self-produced, and was mixed and mastered by Arteaga’s OM&M bandmate Aaron Pauley.
