LOS ANGELES, CA (August 3, 2021) — Fresh off the Rolling Stone exclusive and release of “Wolfsbane” featuring Rico Nasty, Los Angeles-based genre-bending band Love Ghost have announced their next single, “Freak.” Out Friday, August 20, the new single features Kamiyada+ and Original God. The song, a melody for those who feel like they don’t fit in, displays raw energy and emotion paving the way for the misunderstood.
Produced by Mike Summers (Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Tech N9ne, Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa and others), “Freak” blends hard rock, trap, goth and heavy metal to create a collaborative outcast anthem.
“Kamiyada+ and Original God both have such a unique style, so we had to get them on this track,” says Love Ghost frontman Finnegan Bell.
“‘Freak’ is the future,” adds Original God. “Blending Love Ghost’s nostalgic punk rock sound with Kamiyada’s aggressive flow—reminiscent of 80s rockstars and my dark experimental vocals—make for a track that is both needed and unmatched. ‘Freak’s’ energy is displayed vigorously through it’s sound. You can hear how much fun we had making it for you and bringing both old and new sounds together like a bewitched spell.”
Love Ghost composed of Finnegan Bell (lead vocals, guitar), Ryan Stevens (bass, backing vocals), Daniel Alcala (guitar, engineer backing vocals), Samson Young (drums, backing vocals), and Cory Batchler (keys, backing vocals) is known for their hyper-expressive songs. With “Freak” feat. Kamiyada+ and Original God, the quintet continues their crusade to break generic genre molds by adding another to the catalogue.
