Gürschach Teases Long-Awaited Second Album With Debut Single

“The Gate to Vylvyryn”

Absolutely Nothing Due November 2nd

FFO Dream Theater, Tool, Muse, The Prodigy, Sleep Token

San Francisco based progressive metal act Gürschach has released the debut single from their upcoming album Absolutely Nothing. “The Gate to Vylvyryyn” single and accompanying lyric video featuring prominent footage from NASA, including Neutron Stars, Nebulae, otherworldly planets, Black Holes, and more, is the first taste of the band’s new record.

Even in their early work, Gürschach has always had an experimental sound, but this new single sees the band venturing even further than they ever have using elements not heard on any of their prior recordings. To get technical, “The Gate to Vylvyryn” showcases slap technique on an acoustic guitar, front and center synthesizers, sub octave guitar tuning, and a modulated voice section in the bridge. The song itself still has the core elements of the band’s sound, but with a more electronic edge layering the sound. While “The Gate to Vylvyryn” showcases a bit of a different side of Gürschach, it’s but one piece of their upcoming album’s 10 tracks.

About Gürschach:

Gürschach (pronounced Ger-shock) is a Progressive Metal act from San Francisco. Since 2013, the lineup has featured lead guitarist and vocalist X, bassist and vocalist Scotty McRib, guitarist and keyboardist Leyland Reid, and drummer Daniel Justo-Sanchez.

On October 10, 2015, Gürschach released their first EP, Beautiful Nightmares, independently on a micro-budget, as an embodiment of the phrase DIY. The music on the EP would be the first and last time the band would release a straightforward Thrash Metal record.

After touring through 2016 and 2017, the quartet returned to the studio to complete their first full-length album, Dark Matter, on December 1, 2017. Three music videos and two lyric videos were produced to promote Dark Matter, with “Undead Empire” and “Innocent Blood” garnering the lion’s share of media attention. The band continued to tour through 2018 and 2019, embarking on the Kiss Our Jobs Goodbye Tour in 2019 and joined festivals such as Death In The Dunes and Redwood Metalfest.

In 2020, Gürschach released a reimagined version of Metallica‘s infamous title track “St. Anger” from 2003 with a total production overhaul. Upon upload, it quickly spread throughout the heavy metal scene on a global scale, and still continues to attract massive amounts of attention to this day. Following this, the group prepared original tracks from home during the pandemic which would ultimately complete the Hypnotic Disasters EP, kicking off the promotion with their version of Slayer’s iconic “Dead Skin Mask.” The 2022 EP is available on all major streaming services.

Gürschach is currently seeking management, as well as label, distribution & touring opportunities. All interested parties can contact the band via the links below or through their website.
