Listen to Eve6 feat. Virginity – “Good For You (Better Version)” HERE
What started as a distributor error and a quirky exchange on Twitter has re-emerged into a new-ish release by Eve6 feat. Virginity, aptly titled, “Good For You (Better Version).” The track was originally released on Eve 6’s June 2021 EP release Grim Values — but due to a mysterious internal error the final song, “Good For You” was released without vocals. Once Eve 6’s Max Collins realized what had happened he jokingly took to Twitter to write and record a melody and lyric over the instrumental. That’s when Casey Crawford, vocalist of the rising punk band Virginity was called to the challenge and laid down a melody that gave Max chills. Stream “Good For You (Better Version)” across all platforms today. On the release, both artists state:
“This collaboration was born of a mundane distributor error when Eve6 accidentally released an instrumental version of one of the songs from our newish EP ‘Grim Value.’ We put on twitter that if anyone tracked their own lyric and melody to the song, and it was good, that we’d release it as a split. The result was Virginity vastly improving upon the original.” – Max Collins of Eve 6
“Eve6 has legit been one of my favorite bands since I was 12. They are one of those formative bands for me in a big way and I celebrate their entire catalog. To have had this insane internet interaction that turned into us doing a song with them is truly a dream come true for me and it honestly makes me feel like we’re in a fuckin’ simulation. I mean, this is the coolest shit ever.“– Casey Crawford of Virginity
Virginity just released their album POPMORTEM via Smartpunk Records on October 15, 2021 and will be playing The Fest in Gainesville, Florida next weekend along with Eve 6 which beg the question — will we get to hear this collaboration live on stage?!
