Dälek Announce North American Tour; Release “Echoes Of…” Video via Brooklyn Vegan
Dälek, who will release their eighth studio album, Endangered Philosophies, via Ipecac Recordings on Sept. 1, have announced the first North American tour in support of the 11-track release.
“We are very excited to tour extensively in the U.S.,” says MC Dälek. “While we have done some short runs supporting amazing acts like Publicist UK, Daughters, Candiria and Cult of Luna, we haven’t had a lengthy North American tour in quite a while. We are even more excited to spend a month bringing Endangered Philosophies and our signature Dälek sound to so many places we haven’t played in a long time. We’re also thrilled that Austin experimental duo, Street Sects, will be joining us for this run.”
The band has also released a video for “Echoes Of…”, premiering the clip via Brooklyn Vegan: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/watch-daleks-new-video-for-echoes-of/.

“Before Def Jux, before Death Grips, before Yeezus, there was Dälek” (Noisey). Pioneers of alt hip-hop, Dälek features rapper/producer MC Dälek, producer/live electronics Mike Manteca and turntablist DJ rEk. With roots in the mid-‘90s DIY scene, Dälek has consistently released groundbreaking albums, starting with their 1998 debut EP, Negro Necro Nekros, which NME said saw the outfit “deconstruct hip hop” to 2016’s Asphalt for Eden, hailed by Pitchfork for its subtlety and restraint, saying “on Asphalt for Eden, hip hop ascends into the noosphere.”
