On April 26th 2019, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive came to Dallas as part of their Collapse The World Tour. Killswitch Engage is touring in support of their seventh studio album, Incarnate, while Parkway Drive is touring in support of their album, Reverence. They were joined by After the Burial and Vein.
Opening the show was Vein. Vein is a band I have heard of but I wasn’t too sure of their music. They came out with a huge bang. So much energy. Every member was full of it…energy that is. They put on a quick but entertaining set.
Next up was After the Burial. I was a little more familiar with their music and was pretty excited to see how they performed live. They were on the money. Vocalist Anthony Notarmaso was on point, hitting every note spot on. This band has been through quite a few members but their current line-up seems like it is doing great. Looking forward to see what they have lined up for the future.
Australia has given us so many great bands…next was one of my favorites to come from the “land down under”, Parkway Drive. Long time fan but my first time seeing them live. They came out hard and heavy. Vocalist Winston McCall sounds like right out of the albums. The house was PACKED. One of my favorite songs came on (The Void) and I myself, wanted to join the pit but cameras are expensive. From the looks of it, they didn’t disappoint a single fan. I am on the lookout for their next date here.
Last but certainly not least was a band I have been waiting for so long to see live, seeing as I have missed them every dang time. Killswitch Engage!! With Jesse Leach on vocals, I was even more excited. Starting the show off on an extremely HIGH note with “This Fire”. Wrestling fans will easily recognize this one as it was CM Punk’s theme song. Little known fact Randy Orton came out to this briefly as well. They has double circle pits going on multiple occasions. It was a sight to see. Southside Ballroom was packed from front to back. It was insane to see. I haven’t seen it that packed in a long time. Seeing them the first time was not a disappointment. I was pumped while watching them. One of the best bands I have seen live in a very long time.
