REVIEW – In the 1980s, Ron Keel established himself as a superior American hard rock/heavy metal vocalist and guitarist with STEELER. After the group dissolved in 1983, Ron Keel went solo and created KEEL, with whom he achieved success in 1985 with the single “Right to Rock” off the self-titled album. A string of critically acclaimed albums, including ‘The Final Frontier’ (1986) and ‘Keel’ (1989), helped establish the band until they disbanded in the early 1990s. In the year 2000, Keel formed the Southern rock band IRONHORSE and released two albums. In 2010 he reformed KEEL and released ‘Streets of Rock & Roll. Ron Keel secured a contract with EMP in 2018 and released “Fight Like a Band” under the moniker “Ron Keel Band.” ‘Keeled’, a compilation of re-recordings of KEEL classics, will be released in 2022.
The RON KEEL BAND welcomes the listener to their style of metal mastery with “The Right To Rock,” one of KEEL’s most lively and dynamic tunes off the new EP. The next track is “Here Today Gone Tomorrow,” which will have you rocking and grooving. The song “Tears Of Fire” will induce you to close your eyes and daydream while your emotions and imagination whisk you away. In the following medley, “Medley: Because The Night/Somebody’s Waiting” the music will inspire the listener to get up and get moving as it conjures fond memories. With “Calm Before The Storm (Live),” KEEL concludes the EP with a song that is sure to have the crowd on their feet and singing along.
