On Episode 3, “Richard Shaw: What goes on tour, goes on social media,” the Cradle of Filthguitarist dishes on the rare show where an impromptu drum solo happened. “A certain member of the band who will remain nameless shit themselves on stage,” he laughs. “Next thing I know, there’s an extra intro take and then a ten minute drum solo. And then our tour manager literally says, ‘Yeah, he’s in the shower because he shit himself.’ For about 13 songs he had a shit just lying there, walking around the stage like nothing happened.”
During Episode 4, “David Abbruzzese: From Eddie Vedder to Axl Rose,” the former Pearl Jam drummer and LOST SYMPHONY contributor humorously reflects on touring the massive Guns N’ Roses. “I just remember that Axl Rose looked at me and said, I notice you laugh at all of my jokes…and I just said, ‘I don’t want to get fired,’” Abruzzese recalls.
All That Remains drummer Jason Costa takes a more serious tone on Episode 8, “Jason Costa: We Weren’t a Band, We Were a F*cking Pack of Wolves.” “Alcoholism crept up on me…I used to not drink before I played in Diecast,” he reflects. “But at night when you’re staying at some drug dealer’s house and you’re sleeping on the Aerobed your parents got you for Christmas…the cats would always pop the Aerobed and you would wake up on the goddamn floor with sore arms and legs. So I would just be like, fuck that, preemptive strike, just go right for the alcohol before I would go to bed and just pound the shit out of it. Whatever the hell it was I would just pound the shit out of it. All That Remains is a different story. I would start drinking before I played. Nervousness.”
