Lauren Alaina brought her opening night of her Top of the World tour to The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD.
Spencer Crandall, the young up-and-comer out of Nashville, opened the packed Fillmore. Crandall has an upbeat country sound and played a nice 30 plus minute set with his new age country sound. The highlight of his set was a melody of songs from other genres of music, which he calls his shower songs. Crandell also has a lovely ballad song called, “My Person.” Give him a listen, he will be one to watch out for.
After a brief intermission and a quick change of the set, which included a blue sofa and lights, the fans of the newest inductee of Grand Ole Opry were clapping and excited for Ms. Alaine to hit the stage. Once the lights went black, the place went crazy with Alaine starting her show in the dark. When lights came up, Ms. Alaine was sitting on the couch. She played a good 15 song set and came back out with I think was a 3 song encore. Some of the songs on her set list were “If the World Was a Small Town,” “Getting Good,” Ladies in the 90s,” and sang “Getting Over Him” with Spencer Crandall. Alaina ended the encore with her smash hit song, “Road Less Traveled.”
