CLEMENTINE MOSS, ZEPPARELLA DRUMMER AND AUTHOR OF RECENTLY RELEASED BOOK: “FROM BONHAM TO BUDDHA AND BACK: THE SLOW ENLIGHTENMENT OF THE HARD ROCK DRUMMER,” APPEARING WITH THE 8G BAND ON “LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS” FROM NOVEMBER 13 TO 16
CLEMENTINE SITTING IN FOR 8G BANDLEADER FRED ARMISEN AS PART OF THE SHOW’S POPULAR, ROTATING GUEST DRUMMER SERIES
Clementine Moss, the driving force behind the legendary, all-female Led Zeppelin powerhouse, Zepparella, sits in with the “Late Night with Seth Meyers” 8G Band for the week of Nov. 13 to 16, as the dynamic drummer releases her first book, “From Bonham to Buddha: The Slow Enlightenment of the Hard Rock Drummer.”
“Late Night with Seth Meyers” airs on NBC weeknights at 12:35/11:35 pm.
“It’s such an honor to be joining the spectacular players in the 8G Band, and temporarily filling Fred Armisen’s shoes, back in NYC, where drumming started for me,” Clementine shares.
With an already illustrious music career as a founding member of the bands Bottom and Zepparella, as well as a singer/songwriter for several solo projects, Clementine’s writing background led her to the realm of music journalism, writing for Modern Drummer and the Roland Instruments website. Her rugged journey as a hard rock drummer juxtaposed with her decades-long spiritual practice led her to write “From Bonham to Buddha: The Slow Enlightenment of the Hard Rock Drummer” (https://a.co/d/hPWO0Cm), a memoir that delves into the intersections of a life in music and spirituality, released in February.
The Independent Review of Books said its “the rare kind of memoir that makes one forget it’s not a novel,” going on to say “From Bonham to Buddha…” is “an exhilarating read… from wild leaps to NYC, meditative mountain retreats, and early romance over drum kits to cross-country tours, sleepless benders, and bittersweet final shows, this book is laced with reckless adventure… Boasting some of the most passionate diatribes about percussion ever put to paper, and the tone of an electrified guru, this is one of the most original memoirs you will ever read.”
Clementine Moss was born in Orange County, Calif., finding her way to New York City with a writing degree. In a series of fated accidents, drums found her. In the years since, she’s toured extensively, settling in San Francisco where she currently lives with her husband, musician and music manager Tim Moss, and Henry the Pug.
