Disturbed brought their Take Back Your Life Tour to Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia. They brought special guests Jinjer and Breaking Benjamin.
First on the lineup was Jinjer the Ukrainian metal core band from Donestk. The lead singer, Tatiana Shamayluk, had a very powerful voice. They were given a six- song set, which did a very fine job at getting the crowd excited for the night.
After a set change, up next was Breaking Benjamin. This is the 5th time that I have seen Breaking Benjamin, and each show is always different. They played a good 13 song-set, with such classic hits as “Red Cold River,” ‘Until the End,” “Failure,” “I Will Not Bow,” and “The Diary of Jane.” After the third song, Benjamin announced that their drummer, Shaun’s birthday was the next day. The whole crowd, along with the band, sang happy birthday to him.
There was another break and it was time for Disturbed. A huge white curtain droppped and the band opened up with their song, “Hey You.” The band played a good 20 maybe 21 song-set with a lot of pyro and flames in the background. Some of the songs that they performed where such hits as “Stupify,”” Are You Ready,” “Unstoppable,” “The Sound of Silence,” which I think they do a very good job on the Simon and Garfunkel cover. They also played “A Reason to Fight.” While performing this song there is a suicide PSA playing in the background. The lead singer, David Draiman, talks about the many different mental illnesses and that we should try to help anyone and everyone. One of their last songs during the encore was their smash hit, “Down With the Sickness.” They ended the show with, “Inside the Fire,” using more pyro and flames.
