 “Back 2 U” by STEVE AOKI & BOEHM featuring WALK THE MOON has made its way out of the gate with a bang. Since its release on May 19, the up-lifting song–with its resplendent vocal courtesy of WALK THE MOON’s Nicholas Petricca has already received over 3.5 million streams on Spotify, in record time for both Steve and WALK THE MOON. Now AOKI has joined forces with MTV for the exclusive premiere of its video this morning via MTV’s Snapchat Discover channel delivered to Snapchat’s over 100 million daily active users, alongside a prime time MTV broadcast premiere at 7:55pm ET/PT tonight (June 10).
For the video AOKI, BOEHM and Petricca called out to music fans to post a photo of themselves holding a photo of their someone special they’d like to get back to. Out of thousands of entries, a selection of photos were edited into a colorful collage, exploding with shapes. It’s a heartfelt montage which also features all three artists.
“Back 2 U” is a unique pairing for STEVE AOKI who is known to align himself with a diverse caliber of artists in the studio. WALK THE MOON had one of the biggest global smashes as of late with “Shut Up & Dance” and BOEHM has had a recent string of Hypemachine #1’s and over 25 million online streams of his various productions which blend tropical and future house.
