The talent on this years tour is very good.  From some slightly known bands to some that are very popular the music was good.  The biggest problem at least for me it seemed to be trying to take it all all in.  Even with the times and stages staggered it was almost impossible to catch every band.  So you just kind of bounced around from stage to stage trying to hear what you could.  But hey with almost 70 bands there is no way you didn’t find or hear some awesome music.

With a line up of almost 70 bands I was amazed at the number of people on such a blistering day but from what I could tell most seemed to handle it alright.  Shade was a premium especially at the height of the sun in the middle of the afternoon.  If there was a shade from a tree, awning or a tent there were people siting and enjoying it.

Nice that the tour started here in Dallas.  What a great event. There was a little bit of everything with trinkets, bracelets, band t-shirts, albums, Cd’s, inflatable water slides, cooling stations, and all kinds of music and collectibles available.  Food and drinks galore.

Found some new music that I will be listening to for a longtime.   It was great to see a bunch of young talent set to make some major strides into the music business.  They were very good.

The shear massiveness of putting on such a large event like this is incredibly amazing in the number of staff.  The logistics of moving so many bands in and out of this place, buses, trailers, tents, stages and just people.  And pulled it off without any major problems.  Kudos to the Vans Warped Tour people, Gexa, Live Nation and all of the hundreds of staff for putting on such a great summer show.

No surprise if you are a metal fan that one band that seemed to bring out the best in the crowd was Motionless In White.  Dark costumes and set they had body surfers skimming across the tops at an incredible rate.  We witnessed crowd surfing all day but nothing like this.  they were rolling in at one point 3 and 4 at a time.  Really pretty cool and amazing that no one was dropped or hurt if they hit the pavement and I know there were one or two that did.

We will be putting up a picture gallery since there are so many from the day.  It was amazing to watch these folks breaking down and heading out for San Antonio show which is going on today June 25th.  My first experience at a Vans Warped Tour and I would go again.  If they are coming to your town don’t miss them.
