Review-How is Kate Bush not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? You look at the women playing symphonic or operatic metal music today. You will clearly see the impact and inspiration that Kate Bush has had on this industry. She is not only a trailblazer in her style and sound, but her way of handling the music industry as a business. No matter what type of music you like, chances are you have a Kate Bush favorite song. In 2014, almost out of the blue, Kate Bush announced that she would be playing live again. She did a 22-night run at the Hammersmith Apollo. For the Kate Bush fanatics, we would know this as the place she ended her headlining tour in 1979. The arrangements on this cd are so beautifully and richly textured. You get the atmosphere that Kate was trying to recreate for the fans of the concepts of the original albums like “ Hounds of Love”. Which she devotes to a theatrical tour de force about this shipwrecked woman. You get the passion that only Bush can display. While she is dialing down on her past delivery, she does have a more focused and mature style that sounds so controlled and dream like.

How can any Kate Bush fan, not get goosebumps when she goes into her treasure chest of gems and give us classics like “ Running Up That Hill” and the ending track “ Cloudbursting”. While a Kate Bush purist can argue that she should have included more classics like this or that, I am still happy that we got a 2016 live album from Kate Bush. While I will admit, her last two outings were good for what they were and delivered. This album is great, and is a very huge love letter to her fans. The theatrics on this cd , carry over very well to disc. You can dive into the atmosphere and mood that she was creating live. This three disc live album runs around 155 minutes long. Kate Bush plays her first shows in 35 years and has a daring if not odd setlist. The sad part of this, is that Kate Bush has said there will be no dvd or blu ray of this event. This is what is the negative to this review. Kate Bush has become a bit of a recluse. She only appears on the blue moon calendar event. I feel this would be the time to release a blu ray or dvd of this concert. What about the oft delay of her blu ray of the Whole Story-The Videos.

Kate Bush, is one of these musicians that do things her way. The sad thing is that no one beside Kate, clearly understands that this selfish way hurts the fans. That being said, this is not a three disc cd, it is an event. An event that has to be heard to be believed. Kate Bush, is always going to be Kate Bush, for better or for worst. I am always going to wave the flag for her music and what her career in music has brought. All in all, this is a must own from one of the best musicians in the business.
