Fort Worth, TX – Some reviews are way off and some are spot on but the ones about Clay Walker were nowhere close the reality of a Clay Walker concert. Some reviews were not very glowing and this assignment concert was feeling more like “work” than fun. Got dressed and headed to Billy Bob’s Texas unmotivated, The line to get in was long and my “work” attitude perked up a little. You look at the long line and you think there is no way this guy can be that bad in concert with this many people. Get in, make your way to your seat and less than 5 minutes later Clay Walker and the band comes out. Opening up with “If I Could Make A Living Out of Loving You” the standing room only crowd went crazy.
When the band opened up and Clay Walker started singing, the crowd went wild and at that moment the reviews read had to have been another concert and the reviewer didn’t know what concert they were at. Clay Walker was more than a cowboy in a tight pair of jeans. He drew his crowd in and if you were ever going to dance with him all you have to do is go to a concert. The band all had fun, interacted together and with the crowd and danced with every fan out there. About half way through the concert he tells the young man running his fan table to bring him about 20 t-shirts in various sizes. Shortly after there were t-shirts flying everywhere and some very happy fans.
Live, Laugh, Love then Live Until I Die, She Won’t Be Lonely Long, Fall Hypnotize The Moon, There Was This Woman, Rumor Has It, Who Needs You Baby, You’re Beginning To Get To Me, Only on Days That End in Y and If You Leave Me Tonight were just a few of his songs played. Several times he would stop singing and the crowd would be singing for him. Definitely crowd interaction and probably one of the best concerts you can go to so Clay Walker, what started out as an assignment earned you another fan. Typically, you will know more songs than you think and you might even buy you a t-shirt! If you have not seen Clay Walker in concert it should be a must do on the bucket list and Billy Bob’s is an excellent venue to do it at. Will definitely go see Clay Walker and his Band again. Next concert is August 28, 2015 in Orem, UT at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre.
